Sheela Shoes

Our office for Sheela Shoes is located at C-1 in the Shukla Chawl, which is inside the Rainbow Industrial Estate. We are on Road No. 23 in the Seepz MIDC area of Mumbai. This is a very industrial part of the city, and it gets incredibly busy during shift changes. Our space is basically a warehouse and a small office area combined. It is not fancy at all. We have racks of shoes stacked up to the ceiling and the smell of rubber and leather is quite strong. Working in a chawl within an industrial estate means space is tight and things are very practical. We spend a lot of time moving crates around and checking the inventory. The Mumbai rain can be a real problem here, as the roads often get flooded, but we just keep the stock high on the shelves and carry on. We don't have a big corporate hierarchy. It is just a few of us managing the distribution and the accounts. Most of our work involves talking to suppliers and making sure the deliveries are on time. We have a small desk with an old computer where we track everything. It is a bit noisy with the nearby factories, but it is a good spot for logistics. We are just a regular business doing the legwork in the middle of a very busy industrial hub.
