You can find our shoe manufacturing setup at 8 Byculla Street No 17, in the A Wing of Building No 101. Byculla is an old part of the city with a lot of history, and we are right in the thick of it. We do not have a big storefront with a display window or a fancy sign. We are a workshop where the actual making of the shoes happens. Building 101 is a busy place with all sorts of people coming and going throughout the day. Inside our unit, it usually smells like leather and glue. We have our machines set up for cutting, shaping, and stitching. It is not a quiet environment by any means. There is always the thumping of the presses and the whirring of the sewing machines. We have been making shoes here at Maharashtra Shoe Manufactrure Company for a long time. The space feels a bit tight sometimes with all the boxes of materials and finished pairs stacked up against the walls, but we know where everything is kept. We take the stairs every day and wave to the other people working in the A Wing. It is a real community of makers and small businesses. We do not do much in the way of advertising or marketing. Most people know us because we have been on Street No 17 for so many years. It is a simple life of working with our hands and making sure the shoes are sturdy. That is all there is to it.
