S. F. Patanwala

S. F. Patanwala is an old name around Mazgaon. We are up on the second floor of the Patanwalahilal Building in C-Block. This place has a lot of history and you can feel it in the wooden floors and the high ceilings. It is not a modern office with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, we have heavy wooden desks and shelves that have been here for decades. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a breeze, which is nice because these old buildings can get quite warm. We handle our business in a very traditional way, keeping track of things in big registers and talking to people face to face. The neighborhood is mostly residential and quiet, which suits us just fine. We have a lot of regular people who have been dealing with us for a long time. It’s a family-run sort of thing, so there is usually someone from the Patanwala family around to talk to. We don’t see any reason to change how we do things just to look more modern. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but once you get here, it’s a calm place to work. We just focus on our daily tasks and keeping the records straight. It is a steady pace of life here in Mazgaon and we are happy to be a part of it.
