Maya Sweet Mart

Maya Sweet Mart is situated in Sion, right inside Shiv Market at 195-A. If you know Shiv Market, you know it is a very loud and busy place to be. There are vendors everywhere and people pushing through the aisles all day long. Our shop is just one of many, but we have our own way of doing things. We get here early to open the shutters and start the day’s work. There is always a lot of cleaning and organizing to do before the first customers show up. 195-A is not a large space, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. It gets quite hot in the market, especially during the summer months when there is not much breeze. We just keep our heads down and do the tasks. We do not have any big marketing plans or fancy goals. We just want to make sure the shop is open and ready for whoever walks in. It is a lot of hard work and many hours spent on our feet. We see the same people week after week, and you get to know their names and their stories. It is just a regular market shop, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep going because that is what we do.
