Our shop is number 5, right in Khadewadi in the Sion Trom area. It is basically Sion Masjid East, and we are directly opposite the fish market. If you have ever been to the fish market, you know the smell and the crowd. It is always loud and there are people everywhere. At Maruti Courier Services Pvt Ltd, we deal with parcels all day long. People come in with envelopes and boxes that need to go all over the place. The shop is small, so it gets packed pretty quickly when a few customers show up at once. We spend a lot of time taping up boxes and writing out addresses. It is a fast-moving business because everyone wants their stuff delivered yesterday. The location is convenient for the locals, even if the traffic outside is a nightmare most days. We have seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the fish market stays the same. The staff here knows the regular customers by name. We don't have fancy tracking screens all over the walls, just a lot of ledgers and a scale that has seen better days. It is hard work, keeping track of everyone’s items and making sure they get loaded onto the trucks at the right time. Being in Sion means we are right in the middle of everything, which helps when we need to move things fast. We just do the work and stay out of trouble.
