Mark Express Corporation

Our place, Mark Express Corporation, is inside the A1 Arcade at Shop No 37. We are right by Vile Parle West station, which is handy if you are taking the train. The Bank of Baroda is just across from us, so we use that as a landmark for people who get lost trying to find the arcade. The shop is pretty small and is usually filled with cardboard boxes of all sizes. We spend a lot of time taping things up and writing addresses with thick black markers. The sound of the packing tape being pulled off the roll is something you get used to after a while. It is a lot of lifting and moving stuff around, and my back usually aches by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a small space for people to drop off their parcels. Sometimes the arcade gets really hot in the summer, and we have a small fan that just moves the warm air around. We handle a lot of different packages, some going nearby and some going far away. It is just a basic setup with a desk, a scale for weighing things, and a lot of logbooks. We have been here for a while, and the station commuters often stop by to drop things off on their way to work. It’s a busy little corner of Vile Parle. It’s a simple life here, just moving boxes from one place to another.
