Manoj Dj

Manoj Dj is basically me and a couple of guys working out of Pathare Niwas. We are at room 213, right near Babhai Naka in Borivili West. It’s a small place where we keep all the speakers and cables. Most of the time, the equipment is piled up because we just got back from a gig or we are getting ready for the next one. Borivili is where I grew up, so I know the streets around here pretty well. We don't have a big office with a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably just see me testing some wires or cleaning the mixers. It gets loud sometimes, but the neighbors at Pathare Niwas are okay with it usually. We do all sorts of local events. Nothing too crazy, just weddings or small parties nearby. I started doing this because I liked the music. Now it’s just a job that keeps us busy. The gear is heavy and moving it around is the hardest part of the day. We’ve got a small van we use for transport. It’s parked outside most days. People just call or walk in if they need some sound for a function. It's a straightforward business. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Just the equipment and us. Sometimes the wires get tangled and it takes an hour to sort them out. That's just how it goes here in Borivili West. It's a living.
