Mahim Halwawala

If you find yourself in Andheri West near the 7th Cross, you might end up near our little spot. We are Mahim Halwawala, located at Shop No 9 in the Mukund Patil Chawl. It is right there on the C I I Main Road in Bharat Nagar, Phase II. Being in a chawl means there is always life around us. There is always someone shouting, a kid running past, or the sound of a motorbike starting up. Our shop is small, and it stays warm because of all the cooking and prep work we do. You can usually smell the sugar and the spices from a few doors down. It is not a place with air conditioning or soft chairs. We have a counter, some trays, and we are usually busy serving people who are on their way to work or heading home. We don't put on any acts here. The floor is often a bit sticky and the lights are a bit dim, but that is just how it is. People come to us because they know what to expect and they like the familiar sight of the shop. We have been in this neighborhood for a while, and we feel like a part of the bricks and mortar. Every morning we open the shutters and start the day's work, just like everyone else on this busy street.
