Maheswari Paper Corporation

Maheswari Paper Corporation is located at 16/A Bomanji Lane in the Fort area. We are on the second floor of the Patel Building, which is part of Building Number 8/16 on Wadia Road. Fort is a very old part of the city, and the building reflects that with its thick walls and big windows. Dealing with paper means we have to be careful about humidity and space, so the rooms are filled with stacks of different grades and sizes. It smells like old paper in here, which is something we’ve grown to like. There’s no elevator, so we carry everything up and down the stairs, which keeps us in shape. The office part is just a couple of desks shoved into a corner where we handle the invoices and orders. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s usually a bit of bickering about where things should go. We don't have a fancy showroom for the paper. Customers usually know what they want before they even call us. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and printers. The street outside is narrow and can get blocked by delivery vans, but that’s just life in Fort. We drink our chai and keep an eye on the clock to make sure deliveries go out on time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we’ve been doing for a long time. The desks are cluttered but the paper is always kept tidy.
