Bharat Copy Centre

We have been sitting here at Bharat Copy Centre for a good number of years now. If you walk down Vibhavri Datta Marg in Ebrahim Compound, you will find us pretty easily since we are right near Chinai College. It gets quite noisy during the afternoons when the students come out of their classes. Most of the day is just spent standing behind the counters or fixing a paper jam in one of the big machines. The air usually smells like warm toner and fresh paper, which is something you just get used to after a while. Sometimes the electricity acts up or a machine breaks down right when there is a long line of people waiting, and that is just how things go. We don't have a fancy office with leather chairs. It is mostly just stacks of paper, some old staplers, and a few stools for us to sit on when things get quiet. People come in for all sorts of things, mostly notes or some forms they need for work. We know the regulars by their faces even if we don't always remember their names. The shop isn't very large, so things can feel a bit cramped when it's raining outside and everyone tries to crowd inside. It is a simple life running a shop in Andheri East. We open up early, sweep the floor, and get the machines warmed up before the first batch of people arrives. It keeps us busy.
