Mahesh Raju Decorators

We are based out of Laxmi Niwas in Bhandup East, specifically unit 1/10. It’s a busy residential area, and our spot is right there in the middle of it all. Shivkrupa Na is the neighborhood most locals know us by. Being Mahesh Raju Decorators, we have a lot of stuff to keep track of, from big iron frames for stages to bags of cloth and lighting kits. Our office is more like a storage room that also happens to have a desk in it. It’s usually a bit dusty because of all the fabric and materials we move in and out every day. We don’t have any polished brochures or a fancy sales pitch. People usually just find us by word of mouth or by seeing our trucks around. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we’re preparing for a big event and everything is laid out on the floor for checking. The street outside Laxmi Niwas is narrow, so we have to be careful when we’re loading the tempo so we don’t block the neighbors. It’s a hard-working atmosphere where someone is always fixing a broken prop or sewing a piece of curtain. We drink a lot of chai and spend most of our time on our feet. It’s not a glamorous job, but we’ve been doing it a long time and we know how to make it work. Bhandup is a loud, crowded place, but it feels like home to us.
