Mahalaxmi Sweet & Farsan Mart

We are located on Street Number 6, right on Chimni Road in Andheri East. This is Mahalaxmi Sweet & Farsan Mart, at Shop Number 7 on the ground floor. It is a busy corner with people always walking past. We make our sweets every morning in the back area. Things like ladoo, barfi, and then the savory stuff like samosas. The heat from the big stoves makes the shop quite warm during the day. I usually sit behind the counter near the fan to stay cool. People come in for a quick snack or to take a box of sweets home for a festival. I have seen the kids in this neighborhood grow up over the years. Now they bring their own children here for a treat. The glass on the display case is always getting fingerprints on it, so I have to wipe it down constantly. We buy our milk and flour from the same suppliers every week. If the quality is not right, I tell them immediately. My cousins help out during Diwali when it gets really crazy. We do not sleep much during those weeks. The rest of the year is more relaxed. Sometimes the street outside gets flooded when it rains heavily in Andheri, so we keep a wooden plank ready for the door. It is an old building, but it is sturdy. I do not plan on moving. Everything I need is right here.
