Mahalaxmi Instruments

Our place is right at the edge of the city in Dahisar East. We are in the Sagar Industrial Estate, unit 311. It’s very close to the toll naka, so if you’re coming from the outside, you hit us right before you really get into the thick of Mumbai traffic. The estate is a bit old, and the stairs are quite steep. Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice in the summer. We have a lot of stuff packed into the room. It’s mostly tools, boxes, and some benches for the work we do. There isn't much space for walking around. We don't have a big sign outside or anything fancy. Usually, people just know we are here. Dahisar can feel a bit far away from everything else, but it's where we’ve always been. The sounds of the highway are constant, especially the trucks hitting their brakes at the toll. We spend most of the day just focusing on the instruments. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the walls a bit damp, but we just deal with it. It’s a simple setup. We have a small kettle for making coffee and a few chairs for when we need a break. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to stay on top of the pile of work on our desks. Most of us have been here for years and we know the area well.
