Mahalaxmi Chivada & Sweet

Down in Lal Baug, over at Kharodi 2, you can find us at Mahalaxmi Chivada & Sweet. It is a local spot and we have been here long enough that we know most of the people who walk past our door. Our days are mostly filled with the smell of spices and sugar. We spend a lot of time making chivada and various sweets that people seem to like. It is a lot of manual work, honestly. We are usually up and moving before the sun is even fully out, getting the batches ready so they are fresh. Lal Baug is a tight-knit area and we feel like a small part of that community here in Kharodi 2. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy things about us. It is just us, the owners and the workers, doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the shop gets a bit messy when we are busy, but we clean it up when we can. We use the same recipes we have had for a long time because they work and people expect a certain thing when they come to Mahalaxmi Chivada & Sweet. We don't try to change things up just for the sake of it. If you are ever in the neighborhood, you will see us there, just working away and keeping the tradition going the way it should be. It’s a simple business but it’s ours and we like it.
