We are located in Malad West, inside the Shiv Shakti Estate. It’s more of a workspace than a fancy showroom, where we focus on getting everything prepared. The mornings start very early here, often before the sun is even up, because that’s when the cooking needs to happen. There is a lot of heavy lifting with the big containers of milk and sugar and ghee. The estate can get quite crowded with vehicles coming in and out, but we just stay in our corner and get the work done. The air usually smells like sweets being made, which is something you get used to after a few days. We have a team of people who have been doing this for a long time, so they know the exact moment when something is ready. Our floors are often wet from cleaning because we have to keep things as neat as possible in a food business. It’s a lot of manual labor, stirring large pots and packing things into boxes for delivery. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we are on our feet in the back. Shiv Shakti Estate is a busy place with all kinds of small businesses, but we just keep to ourselves and focus on the daily production. By the time the afternoon rolls around, most of the big jobs are done and we start preparing for the next morning’s load. It’s a steady cycle that repeats every single day.
