Our company, which is Lunia Tradinglunia Trading Company Llp, is located right in the thick of things in Mumbai. We are on the 5th floor of the Ustad Building, which is Plot 108/112 on Shaikh Memon Street. If you know Zaveri Bazar and Kalbadevi, you know how crowded it gets every single day. It’s a maze of narrow streets and people carrying all sorts of goods on their shoulders. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the building itself is quite old. We do general trading, which means we’re always looking at what’s buying and selling in the market. It’s a loud, busy environment, but we like the energy of it. Our office is small and filled with files and samples. There’s always someone coming in or out with a delivery. We don't have a polished corporate look at all. It’s more about the relationships we have with the other traders on the street. We spend our days negotiating prices and checking the quality of whatever we’re moving that week. Sometimes the elevators in these old buildings don't work, so we end up walking the five flights of stairs, which is quite a workout. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, based on handshakes and knowing who you’re dealing with for years. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We're just a trading firm in one of the world's busiest markets.
