Lonsia Shoes

We are tucked away in the Majhitia Industrial Estate at No. 16. It’s off W. T. P. Marg in Deonar. This is an industrial area, so it’s all warehouses and small factories around us. Lonsia Shoes has been operating from this unit for quite a while. It’s a practical space. We have the cutting machines on one side and the assembly on the other. It gets quite loud when everything is running at once. We aren't a giant corporation; we’re just a group of people making shoes. We spend a lot of time looking at different types of soles and uppers. The floor is usually covered in scraps of material. We try to keep it organized, but when we have a big order, it gets a bit chaotic. The staff mostly comes from the nearby areas. We eat lunch together in the small break area. It’s hot in the summer, but we have some big fans that help. Deonar isn't the prettiest place, but it's where the work happens. We deal with suppliers for the leather and the rubber. Sometimes the prices go up, and we have to figure out how to manage. It’s a lot of everyday problem-solving. We don't spend money on fancy offices. We put the money into the machines and the materials. It’s a basic setup, but it works for us. We just keep making shoes day after day, trying to get every pair right before it goes into a box.
