Latu Courier

We have been sitting here in the Nizam Building on 305 Road for a long time now. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how busy it gets around here. Our office is right opposite Kakad Market, which means there is always noise and people moving about. It’s just a small place, nothing fancy at all. We spend most of our mornings just sorting through piles of boxes and envelopes that come in. Latu Courier isn't a huge operation with hundreds of trucks, but we keep things moving as much as we can. Usually, the fan is humming and someone is drinking tea while checking the logs. The stairs in this building are a bit steep, so we get our exercise every day carrying stuff up and down. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because the streets out there flood, but we just wait it out or find another way. It’s mostly just us and a few guys who handle the deliveries. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just take the package and write down where it needs to go. It’s hard work, especially when the traffic in South Mumbai is blocked, but that is just part of the job. Most of our regulars know where to find us. If you see the crowd by Kakad Market, you are pretty much there. We just keep our heads down and work until the shutters go down at night.
