Our shop is tucked away in Sanjay Nagar, near the Artheswar Nath Shiv Mandir in Kurla West. It is a bit of a maze getting through Sundar Baug if you don't know the area well. We are at B-23, right near the temple. You can usually hear us working from down the street because there is always some sawing or hammering going on. We make all sorts of wooden things here. The floor is almost always covered in sawdust, and the smell of wood and glue is everywhere. We have been in this part of Kamani for years. It’s a tight-knit neighborhood where everyone knows each other. We don't have a fancy catalog or a big website. Most of our work comes from people walking in and asking for a cupboard or a bed. We spend hours measuring and cutting wood to fit the small spaces people have in their homes around here. It is hard work on the back and the knees, but we’ve been doing it a long time. We have a few old tools that we prefer over the new ones. Sometimes the rain makes the wood swell, so we have to be careful with storage. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever order is next on the list. If you see the temple, you are basically at our doorstep.
