We are based at Himmat Niwas on Dongersey Road. It’s a quiet spot in Malabar Hill, right near the St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. The Krishnamurti Foundation India has been here for quite some time. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes for a calm place to work compared to the rest of the city. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy on the gate. It’s just an old building where we handle the foundation’s work and keep track of things. Usually, it’s just a few of us in the office during the day. We deal with the books, the archives, and whatever else needs attention. It’s not like a typical corporate office at all. There’s a lot of paper around and it feels more like a study or a library than a modern business space. The road outside is narrow, so parking can be a real pain if you aren't careful with where you leave the car. We mostly stay focused on the day-to-day tasks. People who come to find us are usually looking for something specific from our collection or want to learn more about what we hold here in the building. It’s a steady pace of work. We aren't in a rush to change things or make the place look modern. The atmosphere is pretty simple and honest. We just do our bit to keep the place running and make sure everything is in its right spot.
