Krishna Mandap Decorators

We are over in Borivali East, tucked away in Lane No 9 of Patwardhan Baug. Being a mandap decorator means we have a lot of heavy stuff to look after. We have poles, bundles of cloth, and lots of lights. Krishna Mandap Decorators has been operating out of this specific lane for quite some time now. It is mostly a quiet residential neighborhood, so we try to be careful when we load the trucks in the early morning. We don’t want to wake up everyone living nearby with the sound of metal pipes hitting each other. We spend a lot of time checking our fabric to make sure nothing is torn or dirty. Things get dusty really fast here. Our storage space is packed right up to the ceiling with all kinds of decorations. Sometimes it takes us a long time to find one specific thing because there is so much gear tucked away in the back. Lane No 9 isn't very wide at all, so parking our tempo can be a real problem some days. But we make it work somehow. Usually, it is just us and a few workers moving things in and out. When the busy wedding season starts, we hardly get any rest. We go to one site, finish the setup, then come back here to get more supplies for the next job. It is hard work, but it is what we do. We don't have a front desk or an office.
