Shop No. 29 is where we spend most of our lives. It’s on Trimbak Parashuram Street, specifically in the 6th Kumbharwada Lane. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know it’s the heart of the metal trade. Kiran Metals has been operating from this small shop for years. The walls are lined with shelves that have seen better days. There’s always a thin layer of metallic dust on everything, no matter how much we clean. It’s just the nature of the business. We get people stopping by all day, mostly looking for specific items or just checking prices. The 6th Kumbharwada Lane is always crammed with handcarts and tempo trucks. It can be a real struggle to get anything in or out during peak hours. We usually start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. By mid-afternoon, the whole lane feels like an oven. We have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise while we work. We don’t have a marketing team or a big HR department. It’s just a few of us making sure the orders are right and the customers aren’t waiting too long. Sometimes we lose track of time because there’s so much to do. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We know the neighbors, and they know us. That’s how things work around here on Trimbak Parashuram Street. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else, even with the noise and the heat.
