Karvaan Weddings

Our place is in Subhash Nagar, specifically building 2, room 603. Andheri is always crowded, so getting here can be a bit of a trek depending on the traffic. We’ve been working out of this apartment for a few years now. It’s a small operation. We focus on weddings, which means our lives are basically lived in wedding halls and markets. My cousin and I started this because we liked organizing things. It turns out organizing a wedding is a lot more stress than we thought back then. We spend a lot of time on the phone with decorators and flower guys. The room is usually filled with fabric samples and notebooks. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where we plan things out. Most of the time we are out on-site anyway. People in the building know us as the wedding people. We handle the small things that usually get forgotten. Like making sure the priest has what he needs or the guest transport is actually moving. It’s not a glamorous job, despite what the photos look like. There’s a lot of sweating and running around behind the scenes. We like being in Andheri because everything is close by. The flower market isn't too far and we can get to most venues easily from here. We just try to keep things organized so the family can actually enjoy the party without stressing too much about the small stuff.
