Kantilal Sweet Shop

We are over in Goregaon West, at number 19. If you walk down the street, you can usually find us without even looking at the numbers. The shop has been here for a while. It’s a small place, mostly taken up by the glass cases and the kitchen area in the back. We spend a lot of time back there with the big pots and the trays. It gets very warm when we’re cooking, especially in the afternoons. We make things fresh every day, so the morning is always a rush to get the first batches out. The floor gets a bit sticky sometimes, no matter how much we scrub it. That’s just what happens when you work with sugar all day long. We have a few regular customers who come in every single morning for their favorites. We don't have a lot of space for sitting, so most people just take their packages and go. It’s a busy neighborhood, and people are always in a hurry. We just try to keep up with the demand. The shelves are simple, and we don't do much in the way of decoration. We focus on what’s in the trays. The building is old, and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it doesn't bother anyone. We're just here to do our job and keep the shop running like it always has. It's a lot of work but it's what we know how to do best. We just keep going.
