Kankai Design Art

Kankai Design Art is based in Goregaon East, inside the Commerce House at Gala No 36. It’s part of the Sainath Industrial area, so it’s definitely not a quiet spot. There’s always the sound of machinery or trucks moving around outside. Our space is more of a workshop than a fancy gallery. We do art and design work, but it’s the hands-on kind. The air is often thick with the smell of materials, and there's usually a bit of a mess on the workbenches. That’s just how we work. We aren't the type to sit in a polished office with glass walls. We like being in the middle of the industrial zone where things are actually being made. The team here is small and mostly made up of people who just like to build and create things. We don't have a marketing department or a sales team. Most of our work comes from people who just know where we are in Goregaon. It’s a busy place to be, and getting here through the Mumbai traffic can be a real struggle some days. But once we’re inside the gala, we just focus on the task at hand. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment. We’ve been here in Sainath Industrial for quite a while, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place. It’s where we belong.
