The shop is at Walkeshwar 65-A and it's been there for quite some time now. When you walk in, you’ll see the glass cases filled with different types of sweets we’ve finished making for the day. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned setup, I guess. We spend a lot of time in the back working with the milk and sugar, and the air always smells like cardamom and fried dough. It’s not a very quiet place because there’s always someone coming in to ask for a half-kilo of this or that. We use these old scales that still work just fine even though they look a bit worn out from all the years of use. The neighborhood here in Walkeshwar is busy but it has a nice feel to it. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by early evening and we have to tell people we’re sorry and to come back tomorrow. The floor is made of that old tile that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don't do much in the way of advertising because people just know where we are located. Dealing with the suppliers for the nuts and the sugar takes up a lot of the morning. It’s a repetitive job, weighing things out and tying up boxes with that thin white string, but it’s what we do. We try to keep the place tidy but with so much flour and sugar around, it’s a constant battle every day. It’s just a normal shop.
