KALIDAASGUPTA INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED

We are located right in the middle of the Gandhibagh area in Nagpur. Our shop is number 139 in the Handloom Market. It is a very old and crowded part of the city, which means there is always noise from scooters and people talking. Inside the shop, we have rolls of cloth everywhere. Some are stacked up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time unfolding fabric for people to look at and then folding it back up again. It gets dusty, but that is just part of being in a textile market. We have been here for a good while and know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It is the kind of place where you have to watch your step because of all the bundles on the floor. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just work from the shop every day. The fans stay on all summer to try and keep things cool, but Nagpur heat is tough. We handle the bills by hand mostly and talk to our regular customers who come from all over. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way to do business but it works for us. We just keep the shop open and wait for the morning deliveries to arrive. It is hard work but we are used to the rhythm of the market life. The neighbors usually come over for a chat when things are slow.
