Brijmohanlal Nandkishore is located right in the heart of Kalbadevi at No. 215, 216, and 236 in Maniyar Gali. If you know anything about Swadeshi Market, you know how packed and loud it gets every single day. We have been in these lanes for a long time now. The space is spread across a few units because that is just how the old market buildings are built. It’s always a bit of a squeeze moving between the stalls and the shops. We handle a lot of fabric and different materials here. There are always rolls of cloth being moved around by handcarts and people shouting to get through the narrow gaps. It’s messy and chaotic but it’s our daily life. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything fancy because most people find us just by walking through the market. Our family has been doing this for years and we just keep the tradition going without thinking too much about it. Every morning we open up the locks and start pulling out the stock. By the afternoon the whole place is a hive of activity. It’s hot and dusty in the summer and the monsoon makes the lanes muddy but we are always here. It’s just a typical Kalbadevi business where we work hard and keep things moving.
