D Double

D Double is tucked away in the Rajda Building, specifically Shop No. 7 on the ground floor. If you know Kalbadevi Road, you know how packed 2nd Old Hanuman Lane can get. It’s a narrow area and there is always something going on right outside our door. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to use every bit of space we have. We’ve got shelves going all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes you need a ladder just to find a specific roll of cloth. The building is old, you can tell by the architecture and the way the floors are slightly uneven in places. We’ve been here at 1/5 Rajda Bldg for a good amount of time. It’s a busy spot with plenty of foot traffic and people moving boxes on handcarts. It gets hot in the summer because the breeze doesn't really reach down into the lane. We have a small desk near the front where we handle the customers and the bookkeeping. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure everything is counted correctly. We don't have a lot of fancy lights or a big window display. It’s just us, our stock, and the daily hustle of the market. People come in and out all day, mostly locals or regular buyers who know exactly where we are located. We just try to keep up with the pace of Kalbadevi Road every single day.
