The Mumbai Bags Co.

You can find us at No. 22 Shanti Bhavan on Gandhigram Road. We are quite close to the Hare Krishna Temple in Juhu. Actually, you can often hear the bells or the chanting if the wind is blowing the right way. The Mumbai Bags Co. is basically a shop filled with all kinds of bags. We have big ones for travel and small ones for just carrying your phone or wallet. I moved into this space a few years ago. It’s a good spot because of all the people walking toward the beach or the temple. The humidity in Juhu is no joke, so we have to be careful with how we store the leather and fabrics so they don't get ruined. I usually sit near the front door to catch whatever breeze comes through. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when the crowds are bigger. We have a lot of tourists coming in who are just looking for something to carry their souvenirs in. Then there are the locals who want something sturdy for their daily commute on the trains. The shop is a bit cramped because I keep buying more stock than I have room for. I keep saying I will organize the back shelf, but I never seem to get around to it. It’s a bit of a mess, but I know where every single piece is kept.
