Janta Farsan & Sweets

If you live in Malad East, you probably know how busy it gets around here during the rush hours. Our shop is right in the middle of all that daily chaos. We specialize in farsan and sweets, which means we are usually up and working before the sun even thinks about coming out. The fryers start early because people want their snacks fresh for breakfast. It is a lot of hard work, and our hands always seem to have a bit of flour or sugar on them no matter how much we wash. We do not have a fancy storefront with bright lights or glass displays. It is just a counter and some shelves filled with whatever we finished making that hour. People stop by on their way to the station or after picking up their kids from school. It is a very normal, local life we lead here. Sometimes we run out of things faster than we expected, and people get a bit annoyed, but we do what we can to keep up. The heat from the back makes the front of the shop pretty warm, especially during the summer months. We have a couple of guys who have been working with us for years. We talk to the customers about the weather or the traffic while we bag up their orders. There is not any big philosophy behind what we do. We just make the snacks and keep going.
