Jaiswal Sweets is tucked away in the Lakshmipuram area, specifically on 18 B Cross in Halsur 1, which is a part of Andheri East. It is a bit of a quiet spot if you compare it to the big main roads nearby. We have a very small storefront with a few glass cases that show whatever sweets we have managed to make for the day. My family has been in the business of making sweets for a very long time. We do not use any kind of fancy preservatives or chemicals, so the things we make do not stay on the shelf for very long at all. We prefer to make everything in small batches. If we happen to sell out of something, then we are just sold out for the day. The kitchen is located right behind the main counter, so you can usually hear the sound of the milk boiling or the constant scraping of the metal pans. It is a very humble place. We do not have any bright neon lights or big signs to attract people. Most of our regular customers are just people who live in the surrounding apartment buildings. They often come in for a little something sweet to eat after they finish their dinner. Sometimes the local kids come by after their school is over. We know the names of most of the people who walk through our door. It feels more like a neighborhood spot than a store, and that is how we like it.
