If you go to Kalbadevi, you’ll find Jaganaath Chaturbhuj Halwai at Sharda Enclave 2nd Main Vignan Nagar 41309. This place has been around for a long time and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The shop itself is filled with the smell of frying snacks. We spend hours over the large pans, making sure everything is cooked just right. It gets very hot in there, especially during the summer months when there isn't much of a breeze. We have a lot of large jars filled with different things sitting on the shelves. Some of the labels are a bit faded because they’ve been there for a while. We aren't really into modern decor or anything like that. We like the old wooden counters and the way the sunlight hits the front of the shop in the late afternoon. People come in for their morning snacks or to take something home for tea. We know most of them by name by now because they've been coming here for years. It’s a lot of repeating the same tasks every day, but there’s a rhythm to it that feels right for us. Sometimes we run out of certain items early and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. We just do our best with what we have. It’s a simple life running a shop like this.
