J Thakkar Sweets & Snacks

You can find us, J Thakkar Sweets & Snacks, at number 30 on the Versova Relief Road. We’ve been running this sweet and snack shop for quite some time now. It’s a regular neighborhood spot where people stop in to grab some samosas or a bit of something sweet after work. The shop isn't very large, so the shelves are usually packed with containers and boxes. We do most of the frying in the early morning so the snacks are ready when the first customers come by. There’s usually a bit of a crowd around tea time. We spend a lot of our day weighing out items on the scale and tying up bags with those little bits of twine. The street outside is usually full of cars and people heading towards the beach area. It gets a bit dusty with the traffic, so we are always dusting the glass jars. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just want to get through the day's stock and make sure the accounts balance at night. It’s just me and a couple of helpers keeping the place going. Sometimes we sit on the wooden bench out front when there’s a gap in customers. Versova is a good place to be, even if the Relief Road gets a bit jammed up sometimes. It’s a steady job and we like seeing the same faces come through the door every week. We stay open until the evening rush ends.
