Islamic Information Centre

You can find us on the ground floor of the S R P building in Andheri West. We are at Shop No 2, and the easiest landmark is the Jumbo Vada Pav shop right across from us. The smell of frying food often drifts into our space, which can make you hungry pretty quickly. At the Islamic Information Centre, we have shelves lined with books and pamphlets. It’s a quiet place for the most part, though the noise from the street is always there in the background. People come in to ask questions or just to sit and read for a while. We don't have any fancy displays, just some simple tables and chairs. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they have a lot of history on them. We spend time organizing the library and talking to visitors who want to learn more. Andheri is such a crowded place, so having this little spot on the ground floor is quite convenient. We get a lot of foot traffic from people walking to the station. Sometimes we stay open a bit late if someone is in the middle of a deep conversation. It’s not a business in the usual sense, just a place where information is shared. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the humidity. It’s a simple setup for anyone interested in stopping by.
