India Today Group

We are based in Mumbai in a building called Sharon Co-Op Housing. Our office is unit number 203. It’s a typical Mumbai housing society setup where some units are used for businesses. It doesn't look like a corporate headquarters from the outside. You have to sign in at the gate with the watchman. The elevator is one of those old manual ones that sometimes gets stuck between floors. Inside, we have our desks and some filing cabinets. We do a lot of work related to the India Today Group from here. It’s usually a bit cramped because we have so many papers and magazines lying around. The light in the office is a bit dim in the afternoons. We usually order lunch from the small place downstairs or bring dabbas from home. Everyone knows everyone else's business in a building like this. We've been here for years. It's a convenient location for getting around the city, even if the traffic nearby is a nightmare. The walls are thin so we can hear the neighbors sometimes. We don't have any fancy meeting rooms. We just gather around someone's desk if we need to talk. It's a very practical, no-nonsense way of working. Most of us just want to finish the day's tasks and get back to our families. The balcony has a view of the street, but it's mostly just smog and other buildings. We keep a few potted plants there to make it look nicer. It's a busy life but we manage.
