Imitation Jewellery Manufacturers Association (Ijma)

The Imitation Jewellery Manufacturers Association, or IJMA as most people call us, is located in the Ijmima Complex. We have offices 1036, 1037, and 1038, which are part of the Raheja Metroplex on Link Road. It’s right behind the Goregaon Sports Club, so that’s usually the best landmark to use if you’re trying to find us. The complex is quite big, but once you get to our floor, it’s a lot of busy people talking about beads, metals, and designs. We spend our time helping manufacturers sort out their issues and keeping the industry moving. It’s not a quiet place. There are always members dropping in to talk about trade rules or upcoming exhibitions. Our desks are usually covered in magazines and trade papers. We’ve been in Goregaon for a good while, and it’s a central spot for many in the jewellery business. The office has a very functional feel to it—lots of filing cabinets and a big table where we hold our meetings. We aren't big on fancy decorations; we just need a space that works for the members. It gets a bit hectic when we have a big meeting scheduled, with people filling up the hallways, but it’s all part of the job. We just try to stay helpful and keep the paperwork in order for everyone involved. Sometimes we stay late answering queries from manufacturers who are just starting out in the trade and need some guidance.
