House Of Bags

This shop is part of the Shivalaya Shopping Centre in Chembur, specifically units 25 and 26. Being in a shopping center means there is always something going on around us. We have bags of all sorts piled up. Some are for school kids, some are for office use, and others are just big sacks for carrying groceries. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. The floor is that old grey tile that’s easy to sweep, which is good because there’s a lot of foot traffic. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific zipper style, we usually have to dig through a few boxes. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big shipment in, and the aisles get narrow. We like the location because it’s easy for people to find once they are inside the center. We don’t really do anything fancy with the window display, just put a few of the newer bags out so people can see them. Sometimes the overhead fans squeak, but we’ve gotten used to the noise. It’s just a normal shop for normal people. We open at ten and usually lock up once the last few shoppers head home. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve grown to enjoy over the years.
