Hira Mistan Sweet Shop

Hira Mistan Sweet Shop is right on the ground floor of Building No 20/2 in Masjid Bunder West. This is a very old part of the city, and our shop feels like it belongs here. We wake up early, long before the sun is up, to start making the sweets fresh for the day. The smell of sugar and ghee is always in the air around our building. It's a small place, mostly taken up by the big counters and the kitchen in the back. We don't have any fancy tables for sitting, people usually just buy their boxes and head out into the crowd. Masjid Bunder is always packed with people, so it stays busy from morning until we close the shutters at night. We use the same recipes that have been used here forever. Nothing fancy or modern, just traditional tastes. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by afternoon, but that’s just how it goes when you make things by hand. The floors are a bit worn down from all the footsteps over the years. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It’s a simple life, selling sweets and watching the world go by from our little corner on the ground floor. We don't do deliveries with apps or anything, you just have to come down and see us if you want a treat. It's been this way for years.
