Girivihar Adventure Club

Our place is at 382, N C Kelkar Road in Dadar West. It’s a pretty busy street, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to the station. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Girivihar Adventure Club isn't a fancy setup. It’s just a room where we keep our maps and some old climbing gear. If you walk in, you’ll probably see a few of us sitting around a table covered in papers and maybe a few empty tea cups. The building itself is an older one, so it has that lived-in feel. Outside, you can hear the constant honking of the buses and the shouts of the vendors. Sometimes the smell of the nearby flower market drifts in when the wind is right. We don't have a receptionist or a big sign. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been trekking with us for years. We spend our days answering the phone and trying to explain the trail conditions to whoever calls. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it gets the job done. We aren't trying to sell anyone a dream. We just show them where the mountain is and how to get there safely. The floor is a bit scuffed and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. It’s a practical space for practical people who just want to get out of the city for a bit.
