About Gasp Chocolates – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
You’ll find us at Jawahar Char Rasta in Bandra West. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always a lot of noise and people rushing around outside our door. Gasp Chocolates is just a small venture we started because we were tired of the same old stuff you find in the supermarkets. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we spend our hours melting, tempering, and pouring. The space is small, so we have to be organized, though it doesn't always stay that way during a busy week. We use real ingredients and don't try to overcomplicate things. Sometimes a batch doesn't look perfect, maybe it has a little air bubble or the shape is slightly off, but it still tastes the same. We don’t use those fancy machines that do everything automatically. It’s mostly just us and some basic tools. Bandra is a fast place, but we try to take things a bit slower inside. We see a lot of different people coming through the door, from students to folks who have lived in the area for fifty years. It’s nice to talk to them while we work. We aren't trying to win any awards or be featured in magazines. We just want to make chocolate that people actually enjoy eating. The name was just something we came up with one afternoon while we were laughing in the kitchen and it stuck.
