Gangar Sweets

Gangar Sweets is tucked away in Prem Kunj on Navroji Lane in Mulund East. We've been at this location, number 308, for quite some time now. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit in everything we need to make our daily sweets. Most of the people who come in live right here in the neighborhood. They stop by when they’re heading to the station or coming back home. We don't really do anything flashy. It's just a counter and some shelves. We start early in the morning to get the milk boiling and the sugar ready. Since we're on a side lane, it stays a bit quieter than the main roads, which we like. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening if it’s been a busy day, but we just make more the next morning. My family helps out with the packing and talking to customers. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside the shop at once. We keep the floor swept and the glass clean, but other than that, it’s a very basic setup. People know us for being consistent. We don’t change the recipes much because that’s what everyone expects when they walk into Prem Kunj. It’s just a normal part of the day for us, weighing out portions and chatting with the regulars who have been coming here for years. We like the rhythm of this place.
