Event

Our office is in the Railway Colony in Khar East. It’s building 221/10 in Jawahar Nagar. If you are near the Khar station, you are basically there. You can hear the trains passing by all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while. We call ourselves Event because that’s what we do, we handle events. It’s a small operation in Mumbai. Space is tight here, like it is everywhere in the city, so we have to be organized. We have boxes of supplies and folders tucked into every corner. It’s not a place for a fancy meeting. We usually meet people on-site or at a cafe because our office is really just for the grunt work. We spend hours on the phone checking with vendors and making sure things are actually going to show up. It’s a lot of stress sometimes, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we don't panic much anymore. The neighborhood is very lived-in. You see the same people every morning. We don't have a big sign outside or anything. If you're looking for us, you just have to find the right door in the colony. It’s a practical setup for a practical business. We don't need a high-rise office to get the planning done. We just need a working phone and a decent internet connection. That’s enough for us to keep things running here in Mumbai. It works for us.
