Event Innovations

Ghatkopar East is where we set up Event Innovations. We are in Ashish Building, B/17, on a plot that doesn't really have a clear name, just a number. The building is one of those typical residential-cum-commercial blocks you see all over Mumbai. It’s a bit cramped inside our unit. We have desks pushed up against each other and wires running across the floor. I keep telling the guys to tape them down so nobody trips, but we always forget. There is a small window that looks out onto the street, but mostly you just see the tops of buses passing by. It gets really noisy during the festival season with all the processions and drums. We have an old fridge in the corner that hums loudly, but it keeps the water cold so we don't mind too much. The building watchman is a nice guy who brings us the mail every day. We don't have any fancy signs or neon lights. Just a small nameplate on the door that is a bit crooked and hard to read if you are in a rush. Most of the time, we are just busy staring at our screens or talking to vendors on the phone. It’s a bit of a chaotic way to spend the day, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been in Ghatkopar for years and don't see ourselves moving anywhere else soon. It’s just home for the business.
