Event Genies

We’ve been at Poonam Pearl for a while now, running things as Event Genies. It’s on the sixth floor, so we spend a lot of time waiting for the lift or looking out at Juhu Lane. Being near Himachal Bldg in Andheri West means it is always busy outside. We are just a small group of people who handle event stuff. Most days are spent on the phone or tracking down supplies for whatever is coming up next. It gets a bit cramped in here when we have a lot of gear piled up, but we make it work. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that. It's mostly just us trying to keep things organized so the events actually happen the way they are supposed to. Sometimes the traffic on the lane is a nightmare, but that’s just part of being in this part of town. People often miss our entrance because the building looks like a regular apartment block from the street. We started out small and stayed that way because it's easier to talk to people directly. There's no fancy reception desk or uniform here. Just desks, computers, and a lot of coffee mugs. If you come by, you’ll probably see us arguing over a floor plan or trying to figure out where to park a truck. It’s not always pretty, but we get the job done. We like the neighborhood because everything we need is close by, even if it takes twenty minutes to drive two blocks.
