Durga Sweet & Farsan Mart

Being in Bhandup West at the 7th Block has its own rhythm. Durga Sweet & Farsan Mart sits right on 10th Cross 3. It is not a huge place, but it keeps us busy from morning till late evening. Usually, the day starts with the smell of sugar and spices hitting you as soon as you open the shutters. We have been in this spot for some time now. People around the block know where to find us when they need something quick to eat or some sweets for a small thing at home. The shop is pretty basic, just some counters and shelves. I’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but we stay doing the same stuff. Sometimes it gets crowded in the small space, especially during those times of the year when everyone wants the same things at once. It can be a bit chaotic, but we manage to get through it. Most of the time it is just steady. You’ll find me or one of the guys here most days. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here on the 10th Cross. It’s just a neighborhood mart trying to keep the shelves stocked for the locals. We just keep our heads down and do the work. That is about it for us. We just try to stay consistent and keep the place running as long as people keep coming.
