Dragon Fly Banquets & Caterers is based on the first floor of Express Tower in Nariman Point. It’s a famous building, right opposite the Oberoi Hotel, so it’s easy to find if you are in that part of South Mumbai. Even though the address sounds very fancy because of the neighborhood, we are just regular people working hard to make things happen. The view of the sea is nice from the higher floors, but down where we are, it’s mostly about the hustle of the office crowds. We have a lot of space for the banquets, and we spend a lot of time moving tables and chairs around to get the rooms ready. It can be exhausting work, especially when we have events back to back. The kitchen staff are usually busy from the early hours, and you can always hear the clinking of plates and cutlery being cleaned. Being in Nariman Point means everything has to be somewhat punctual because people here are always in a rush. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just provide a space and the food for people’s gatherings. It’s a practical business, and we deal with all kinds of situations, from broken equipment to last-minute changes in the guest list. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep our heads above water in this busy city. It's a lot of work but we stay at it.
