Dot Architects

Dot Architects is located in Room No.11 at Shashtri Nagar on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road. We’re right in the Wadala area of Mumbai. It’s a small room, but it’s where all our work happens. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to be organized with our drawings and tools. Working in Mumbai 400031 means we are always around a lot of people and a lot of movement. We spend our days mostly working on plans for local projects. It’s not always glamorous. Sometimes it’s just figuring out how to fit a kitchen into a very small apartment or making sure a staircase isn't too steep. We get a lot of walk-ins because we’re right there on the road and easy to find. People come in with an idea or a problem, and we try to sketch out a fix for them. We don't use a lot of corporate talk or marketing phrases. We just tell it like it is. If a plan won't work, we say so right away. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know the local building codes pretty well. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with the city offices and the contractors. At the end of the day, we’re just glad to see something we drew actually get built on a real street. It’s a decent living and we like the people we work with every day.
