Dj Conred

My spot is in Bid Block No 1, Room No 54, up on the first floor in Chandan Wadi. Kalbadevi is a very old and very busy part of the city. The streets are narrow and always packed with people and carts, so getting equipment in and out is always a challenge for Dj Conred. The room itself is quite small, but I’ve managed to fit all my speakers and lights in there by stacking them up high. It’s an old building with high ceilings, which is nice, but the walls are a bit crumbly and need a new coat of paint. I spend my afternoons here sorting through music and checking that all my leads are working for the next gig. There is a lot of noise from the street below—honking cars and people shouting—so it’s never really quiet. I don't have a fancy office setup, just a wooden table for my mixer and a shelf for my headphones and microphones. Most of the people in the building have lived here for decades, so they all know me by name. I try to be quick when I’m loading the car for a gig because I end up blocking the narrow lane if I take too long. It’s a bit of a squeeze, and sometimes I feel like I’m bursting out of the room, but it’s a central location and I’ve been here a long time. It’s just a basic room where I handle my business.
