Divya Pharma Medical & General Store

We’ve been at 9-B, Gannsiddhinayk Society for a while now. This part of Mahim on Dilipgupte Marag is always busy with traffic and people walking by. Divya Pharma Medical & General Store is where we spend most of our day. It’s a mix of a chemist shop and a general store, so we have quite a lot of different things crammed onto the shelves. Mumbai life is fast, and people usually come in wanting things quickly. We try our best to keep up with them. It gets a bit cramped inside when more than three people are waiting, but that’s just how space is in this city. We handle prescriptions and also keep everyday household items like soap and snacks. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights and uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to the customers like they are our neighbors. Some of the elders in the society have been coming to us since we first opened the doors. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy on this road during the monsoon months, but we try to keep the shop open for those who need us. Managing the stock is a lot of work because the medical side needs a lot of attention to expiry dates and labels. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything runs okay. It’s a local business, plain and simple. We like being part of the Mahim community.
